Loving God, Loving People

Our Strategy

Our goal as a Church is to bring honor and glory to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.   We do that by encouraging people to be…
Loving Seekers of God - And we do that through worship. Matthew 22:27 says “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” When we express our true love for God we are worshipping! Matthew 4:10 says “Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.” At Lovedale Baptist Church, we will strive to be passionate seekers of God through upbeat, blended, worship. We will call this Loving God!
Biblically Consumed Students of God - Our desire should be to simple make disciples. Matthew 28:19 says “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations…”  Lovedale Baptist Church will also exist to educate God’s people. Discipleship is the process of helping people become more like Christ! As a church we are called not only to reach people but also to teach people. Paul wrote to the church at Ephesus saying “It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, 12 to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.” (Ephesians 4:11-13). At Lovedale Baptist Church, we will strive to be Consumed Students of God through Sunday School, through various small group Bible Studies, through a Discovering LBC Class, and through a New Believers Foundation Class. We will call this Loving Others!
Committed Servants of God - Lovedale Baptist Church will also exist to minister to people. All people! Ministry defined is demonstrating God’s love to others by meeting their needs and healing their hurts in the name of Jesus. The church is to minister to all kinds of needs: spiritual, emotional, relational, and physical. Jesus said “if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is my disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward.” (Matthew 10:42). That is ministry. If our goal is to be Christ-like then we must heed Jesus’ words “the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Matthew 20:28) At Lovedale Baptist Church, we will strive to be Committed Servants of God by discovering our spiritual gifts and utilizing them through ministry teams. We will call this Serving the World.
